Blog entry 11/30/20
Today’s the last day of November, the proper time to start listening to Christmas music. If you haven’t yet, follow me on Spotify and listen to my Christmas playlist.
I’ve started to look for an editor of The Blog. The purpose of this function is to write future letters to myself and to share information with others. Regarding the information which I share, I try to share opinion where opinion is due and fact where fact is due. Never underestimate peer review from a valued opinion.
A success
The bonsai tree has taken to its new pot (I think). It has had a traumatic month. A dramatic temperature change near the beginning of November along with a significant trimming had it shivering, then moved indoors in the evening. It has seen much less sunlight and lived indoors consistently enough to the point where it may be considered a houseplant. I also made it a project to design and 3D print a pot for it. The first pot was much too small but had to be lived in for few days while I constructed the second. This was 3D printed and the tree was transplanted.
I also need to give it a name. It’s not an animal but it lives with me and I feel somewhat responsible for it. I’m thinking Vogue, or Tera the Tree.
A failure
I designed and 3D printed a (N+1) logo but it melted out of form when washed with boiling water. PLA’s plasticity level is lower than ABS apparently. I’ll schedule a reprint and use a different temperature of water for cleaning.
