3D Printing progress

Three things happening in my 3d printing world today.

  1. I had a sale! This is always great confirmation that my work is not useless. The creations are of value, I must merely keep fine-tuning this technology and raising awareness.

  2. A project was finished with exceptional results! I made some Christmas ornaments and it turned well. 3 ornaments, PLA material, all functional and they don’t look half bad. See after action report for details.

  3. I got affirmation. A business partner gave some encouragement on the AMPEL project. This was very heartening.

Questions

  • Following that the shift will be from USB-A to the popularity of the USB-C port, what will the priority data interface look like in 10 years? Probably in wireless RIFD/microchip form, right?

  • How to get rid of stringing? When 3D printing with PLA, some material gets dragged across open spaces as the extruder head moves about the project. I’m guessing that I should just wash the model in acetone…

The bonsai reacted

I’ve been keeping a miniature bonsai tree for some time now as a hobby. Having been recently repotted, it has seems to have settled into its new environment: my desk! Having noticed a bend in roots on Monday, I inserted a small pebble between the root and dirt. Today, I noticed that smaller roots have split off and “grabbed” the rock.
