Entry 12/14/20

This entry marks a turning point in The Blog. Up until now, it’s been used as a place to post commentary on things which I discover. Lately, and with all intent moving forward, that which I post to The Blog will be entry- based rather than content- based.

A very important book

The Absent Hand by Susannah Lessard is a memoir which I accidentally purchased while reading a magazine on landscape architecture. The ad described it as revolutionary, though not specific about the revolution.

This book is very important and should be read on vacation by anyone wishing to learn how Lessard’s eye perceives a landscape, and what that perception which we all have means.

There is more to this book than could be discussed in a well-represented discussion, so I suggest that you read it on your own. It’s actually incredible the depth.

Publishing

I couldn’t imagine doing it on a daily basis. But yet, I could. In fact, I do every day..

Exponential application

Found an application of exponentials to power progress: sensors. Sensors provide feedback, and feedback is a driver of growth. Using layers of logic and designed application of sensors, an organization can feed depth of processing power. The integration of each new sensor into the collective Internet of Things (local or open) delivers value on an exponential level when in tandem with deep learning.

Current Events

Gears are starting to turn as successful projects add up and new ones are strategically accepted. My perception of the world has changed more in the last year than they had in the previous 10, and I believe it shall continue to do so every day. Perception of and adaption to change are almost superpowers, but they are par for the course to those on the cutting edge.
